NORFOLK YOUTH PROJECTS SUMMER ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME FOR HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12-16 YEAR OLD

Here is our Summer Programme for 12-16 Year Old Young People. Please take the time to scroll through these events all of which are free of charge and most with lunch provided. An application form is at the end of the page.

Friday 22 July     HIGH SCOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS      NR3 area

OLD BUCKENHAM COUNTRY PARK. 9.30am to 4.00pm

This is an outdoor activity involving Orienteering assault course and environmental issues over a large area in the countryside.

Lunch is provided and there is no cost for this activity. You will be pick up at a desinated point in the NR3 area of Norwich

Monday 25 July     HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD     NR3 AREA

WALK ALONG MARRIOTT’S WAY   10.00am to 3.30pm

This is a walk along the former railway line. You will meet outside Mile Cross Primary school at 10.00am then walk to the Marriott’s way turn North then walk along the path past the Old Hellesdon Station. At River Tud turn Left and walk beside the river to Gunton Lane Pinic area. Paddle in the water. Eat Lunch. Then walk back to Mile Cross.

Lunch is provided and there is no charge for this activity.

Tuesday 26 July   HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD   NR3 AREA

 GRESSENHALL FARM AND WORKHOUSE   10.00AM TO 4.00PM

This is an opportunity to see Norfolk Life of years gone by plus a Farm, Village, Workhouse Museum plus an Adventure Playground.

Lunch is provided for this activity and there is no charge.

Thursday 28 July   HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD NR3

BRAMLEY LAKES. CLIMBING/ABSEILING/ARCHERY   9.30AM TO 4.00PM

You will be taken to Bramley Lakes in Horsford  to take part in the above  outdoor activities under the instruction of XAdventure.

Lunch will be provided and there will be no charge for this activity

FRIDAY 29 July   HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD NR3

BRAMLEY LAKES. Trebuchet/Raft Building   9.30AM TO 4.00PM

You will be taken to Bramley Lakes in Horsford  to take part in the above  outdoor activities under the instruction of XAdventure.

Lunch will be provided and there will be no charge for this activity

Monday 01 August  HIGH SCHOOL  AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD IN NR3 AREA

SHERINGHAM PARK PLUS NORTH NORFOLK RAILWAY     9.30 TO 4.30PM

Leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus to Sheringham Park. We then walk through the park to Weybourne Train Station. Here we will get on a Steam Train into Sheringham Station. We will have Lunch in Sheringham then get back on the train to Weybourne. From Weybourne station we get back on our walk through Sheringham Park to our starting place. We will then get on the mini bus to return home.

Lunch will be provided  and there is no charge for this trip

Tuesday 02 August     HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD.

HIGH LODGE THETFORD FOREST.                   9.30AM TO 4.30PM

We will leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus and head for High Lodge, Thetford Forest. Arriving around 10.30am. We will take part in activities on site in the morning. Then after Lunch we will continue to do different activities. We will NOT use the GO APE activity for health & Safety and insurance reasons. We will leave Thetford Forest at 3.30pm

This activity is free of charge.

Thursday 04 August     HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD   NR3 AREA

TEN PIN BOWLING/TREASURE HUNT            9.30AM TO 3.30PM

We will leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus to Hollywood bowl here we will play 2 games of bowling then have lunch. We will then walk along the river then through the Cathedral grounds, Tombland, Elm Hill then the Lanes to Castle Quarter where you will finish. You will then return by Mini Bus to Mile Cross.

Friday 05 August       HIGH SCHOOL AGE 12 TO 16 YEARS OLD IN NR3 AREA

BANHAM ZOO                  9.30AM TO 4.30PM

You will leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus to Banham Zoo. We will arrive at the Zoo then look round the Zoo till Lunch. After Lunch we will have a 1 hour Educational session hosted by the Zoo. Followed by a final look round before returning to Mile Cross.

Tuesday 09 August  HIGH SCHOOL  12 TO 16 YEAR OLD FROM NR3 AREA

PETANQUE/PITCH AND PUTT        10.00am to 4.30pm

Leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus to St Faiths Petanque Club to Learn the game of Petanque. Then back in the Mini Bus to the Oaks Restaurant for Lunch. After Lunch we head to Mousehold to play Pitch and Putt. We will then return to Mile Cross by Mini Bus.

Thursday 11 August    HIGH SCHOOL 12 TO 16 YEAR OLDS IN NR3 AREA

VISIT TO NORFOLK BROADS/SEA PALLING    9.00AM  TO 5.00PM

 Leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus to Wroxham. Go on a boat on the Norfolk Broads for 2 hours. (You will be able to drive the small boat). Then back in the Mini Bus to Sea Palling. Have Lunch then head for the beach. At 3.30pm prepare then head back to Mile Cross in Minibus

Friday 12 August     HIGH SCHOOL   12 TO 16 YEAR OLD   NR3 AREA  

OLD BUCKENHAM COUNTRY PARK.                9.30am to 4.00pm

Monday 15 August      HIGH SCHOOL   12 TO 16 YEARS OLD  NR3 AREA

KINDERDORP (Children’s Village)  AT SEWLL PARK ACADEMY      19.00AM TO 4.00PM

This is the start of a 5 day programme working at Norfolk Youth Projects KINDERDORP programme. This involves young people from primary school coming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to build small houses in groups with Wood Pallets. On the Thursday night they will sleep in the houses.

We are looking for young people from the high school to come Monday and pre pare the site with tents etc Some young people will be able to be involved with the meals.

The young people from the high school will come back Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to work with the young people to build their houses. From Tuesday you will be able to stay in the tents till Friday evening.

We will pick you up each day and take you to the Sewell Park Academy by Mini Bus. All food will be provided.

Tuesday 16 August   HIGH SCHOOL    12 TO 16 YEAR OLD IN NR3 AREA

KINDERDORP (Children’s Village)  HIGH SCHOOL    PICK UP 9.30AM

You will be picked up from the Mile Cross Area by Mini Bus taken to Sewell Park Academy. You will be volunteering by helping the younger people to build their houses or helping with the food preparation etc or helping with organising games with the young people.

You will stay the night on site in a tent. There is no charge for this activity.

Wednesday 17 August   HIGH SCHOOL    12 TO 16 YEAR OLD IN NR3 AREA

You will look after the young people get up in the morning and have breakfast. Then once the young people have left the site we must break down the houses and get the pallets ready to be taken away again by Lorry. We should be finish by 4.00pm when you will be returned to Mile Cross by Mini Bus.

Thursday 01 September      HIGH SCHOOL      12 TO 16 YEARS OLD   NR3 AREA

MARINA CENTRE/SEA LIFE CENTRE  GT YARMOUTH                9.00AM  TO 5.00PM

We are hoping the new  Marina centre will be open for this date. So we are looking to give you the chance to see the new centre and use the facilities. Including swimming. We will leave Mile Cross by Mini Bus at 9.00am arriving at the Marina centre by 10.00am We will spend plenty of time in the centre and possibility have lunch there. In the Afternoon we will visit the Sealife centre.

We will leave Gt Yarmouth at 4.00pm to return to Mile Cross.

Friday 02 September               ALL YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 16 YEARS      NR3 AREA

OLD BUCKENHAM COUNTRY PARK             9.00AM TO 5.00PM

This is the last day of Norfolk Youth Projects Summer Activity programme. We are looking  for all young people to sign up for this day. So we can celebrate all the fun times we have had during our summer break.

There will be activities to do at the Park. Norfolk Youth Projects will be planning a session to evaluate the holiday programme. We would like to follow this with. What next for you young people and Norfolk Youth Projects in the future.
